Seriously?

This past Friday we had pictures made for the new church directory--THANK GOODNESS because the last family picture that we had I was very much still coming out of my 'homely' stage. (EW.) My brother Aaron is now married (as of last May) so he did not get to take part in this lovely family affair (lucky thing) as he now lives on Oak Island with his wife, Downey (what a great name!...and yes, she is as country as that sounds!). So we all four packed up Friday afternoon to head to the church for pictures. Yes I said four. Mom, Dad, Me, and Nellie. OUR GREAT DANE. Are you kidding me. This, in a nut shell, explains my dad. I haven't talked much about my parents, but the fact that our great dane just had professional pictures made at the church pretty much sums up his craziness. [And I just need to add that the great dane had more pictures made than I (a HUMAN, and HIS DAUGHTER) did. But that was mostly the photographer's doing so I won't blame that solely on my father--who, by the way, is the minister of music and youth of the church.] ...I told him he should put Nellie's picture beside his staff picture.
So, here are some boring pictures from our time with the awkward photographer. Real post about Thanksgiving later...

Mom thinks this one is cheesy...

Mmmhmmm...

Can you tell who I look like? :)

Oh, and I forgot to mention...as a thank you for my dad helping the picture people (he had to let them in and out of the church and whatnot) the photographer gave my dad an 8X11 re-touched picture.....OF THE GREAT DANE.

You need to listen to the audio of " Stepping Up" because your picture of just you reminds me of what she said about showing the best side of us lol:) You are beautiful anyways, but I just thought I would tell you that.
Amanda was reading some article in a magazine and it was how to be a perfect poser...you know Beth so you would know where she would go from there:)
Love you, hope you had a fab Thanksgiving:)

8 1/2 x 11 pic of their dog for.

You were beautiful!! Thanks for sharing your pics. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving...any chance you want to show us the pic you were so thankful to update??? HEHEHE

That is pretty funny. But all the pictures are good. You will cherish the memories like this later on. Yes, even the dog pictures.

Such a cute post. The pictures turned out great. I love the ones of you with each of your parents.

Also, if you've read my recent post, you'll know that I am glad to know that eventually (I hope) our kids will stand/sit still for the pictures ;-)

Well, you are defnintely out of your homely stage! (BTW, I am sure that homely is way too strong a word). Those pics are beautiful. Our family pictures are never 'purchase worthy'. Our church always has Olan Mills do the directory and they are so expensive (and never very good). Hope your Thanksgiving was a blast!

Ok...that is hillarious about the dog and all. We just did the same thing at our church. It had been 6years and I was coming out of the "just had a baby look" and it was not pretty at all. We were the only ones in the WHOLE directory (old one) that was off centered and my baby was cut in half. How stupid is that??!!

Anyway...I can tell your parents are a ball. Their smiles speak volumes. And I think the dog is the cutest thing. I wanted to rub his ears and face. :)

Have a great week my friend~

You are so beautiful. Inside and out!! I loved the family pics!!

We are getting settled in our new home. Can you believe it has rained as much as it has in Nashville?

I have been going to Christ Church but I am still looking for a church for my family. Pray I hear God clearly on this.

Love,
Patty

They are really great pics. You should see mine. It was taken during a time I was sick so lets just say I look "beautiful". ha ha. It is got to be the worst picture of me ever. And it was all by myself so of course it's a close up picture. One thing bad about church directory's is once you do one, you won't do one for about another 10 years. lol
